9800 GX2 leads to no booting

Hello everyone! My first post here, I'm desperate for help in this issue.

I just got my new Leadtek PX8800 GX2 yesterday and installed it. Computer didn't boot, it was like if the power switch was disconnected.

I changed back to 8800 GT, and it worked fine.

What is the problem? I have a Corsair HX620 W PSU.

I don't use two cards, I don't have loads of hard drives, I doubt it's a power problem.

But if it isn't I haven't got the slightest clue to the solution of this.

Please help :(

It's hard to say without all the specs. You could have a beefy cpu or memory and a billion fans sucking up juice. IMO, That PSU is sort of low in wattage for having a (9800/8800?) GX2.

But try these simple steps for now.

1) Make sure everything that requires power is connected to the power supply. Read the MB manual.
2) Check your wiring inside the case to make sure all the cables are connected and make sure there's nothing like a huge video card stretching a cable out.
3) Make sure you turn on the PSU before you try to power up the system from an upgrade.

I solved it, I had to use both of the 6-pin outlets on my PSU, the 5-pin outlets with convertors didn't cut it.

I suppose it's because the 6-pin outlets (or rails? whatev) manage more current than the 5-pin ones.
