help on graphic card decision

i'm currently looking for a new graphic card to buy for around the 80 pound mark just 1 for the moment but will buy another in a few months to sli, i've been looking and the 8800 gt but i dont know what else is really about thats a good choice, it will be used for gaming (fallout 3 when its out

) and watching films, any help will be appreciated

You should stretch just a little bit further, and get a 4850:
4850 @ Scan
It performs about the same level as a 9800GTX.
What resolution is your monitor? I doubt that you actually need the power of SLI, and in games where it doesn't work properly, isn't it better to just have a single faster card?

i currently have a crappy 22inch monitor but may be aquiring a 42-50 inch monitor at christmas, i would like to have the option to upgrade to sli cards in the future though.

I'm guessing something like that will be running at 1920x1080, in which case you would need the power
So in that light, you may as well stick with your original idea.
However instead of getting the 8800GT, look for the 9800GT. They are identical cards, but the 9800GT's are cheaper for some reason.
