Video card/monitor questions

I'm thinking of getting a new system and have a few questions about it. This is what I'm thinking:
Case ( Nzxt Tempest Gaming Tower Case w/420W Power Supply Black )
Power Supply ( 1000 Watt -- Ultra X3 Energy Efficient Modular Power Supply Quad SLI Ready )
Processor ( Intel Core i7 Processor 920 (4x 2.66GHz/8MB L3 Cache) )
Processor Cooling ( Asetek Liquid CPU Cooling Fan System Kit )
Motherboard ( Asus P6T Deluxe Intel X58 Chipset CrossFire and SLI Supported w/7.1 Sound, Triple-Channel DDR3, Dual Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, Three PCI-E MB )
Memory ( 12 GB [2 GB X6] DDR3-1333 Triple Memory Module Corsair XMS3 Dominator w/DHX technology )
Video Card ( 2x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 1GB w/DVI + TV Out Video - running SLI mode )
Hard Drive ( Gaming HARD DRIVE [Serial ATA-300, 10,000 RPM] WD Velociraptor WD3000GLFS 300GB 16M Cache Hard Drive )
CD/DVD Drive ( [Lightscribe Technology] LG 22X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive Black )

The questions I have for this forum is 1) I've read reviews that say running 2 of these cards for video is hard to fit into cases but also, that there is a problem on the cards about the HDMI output. Something about SLI can't be used with the output with HDMI outputs or something? Not sure what it said exactly but something like that. It also says that the DVI connections aren't very good on the cards, is that true? 2) If this is the case, would I be better off to only use on video card in the system? How will my over performance be with only one card compared to 2 cards? 3) Lastly, I've been reading that people are using LCD Flatscreen TV's as computer monitors...does this work? I have a Dell 30" right now, what kind of TV would I have to get to get the same or better performance as what my Dell has? Will the resolution/sharpness/outline be as good on a TV as it is on my Dell? Basically, what I'm saying is if I get a 40" TV, will it look and perform as good as my 30" Dell does.

..and SLI would definitely boost performance(almost twice the performance but not quite) on your system so go with it if you want..I am going for it when i get my tax return..3) you can use your big screen tv for a monitor yes..Im not too keen on it but if it has DVI port then go for it..I had issues with pc's and hdmi tv's and not a big fan lol..not that its bad, it can be done nicely... 4) With the dell you have..using your tv would be a step back resolution wise..if im correct ur dell has an obscene resolution of 25-- by 16-- (i dont know exact numbers) where your tv will at most use 1920*1080..which would give you a lil more performance boost in that scenario....and lastly, it will look awesome either way but I would stick with your dell monitor for sure..up to you regardless..hopefully i answered most if not all the questions lol (a bit tired)
