GeForce 7800 GTX (G70) First Pictures!

Post by Apoptosis »

Nvidia is expected to officially introduce the 7800 series within the next few days. What we know so far is that Nvidia will name its high-end model not "ultra" anymore, but use the add-on "GTX" instead. A simple 7800 and a "GT" will complete the product line.

Sources mentioned that pricing of 7800 cards should be in line with the 6800 series and come in between $550 and $600 for the GTX model.

This card looks very long from the image. It also is only a single slot solution, which is good for those not wanting to take up two slots.

I'm sure that there are several versions of that cooler out and depending on how cheap the maker is will be the deciding factor on what cooler goes on their card.....................

i'm pretty sure that eva's 7800gtx has the copper heatsink, based on the picture he showed. looking at the nvidia picture and comparing them with the picture he posted, they look the same except there's a bfg thing covering the cool nvidia design on the cooler. also, based on comparison of the two pictures, the pointer i have in the picture should be where the outside portion of the copper heatsink should be. look at the nvidia picture and look at the screw on the cooler at the bottom of the card (right by where the pci-e clasp would be). it's about right at the level of where the copper heatsink ends. then, look at the side picture eva took of his card. something that looks like it could be copper ends right about there, too.
