Question on Mixing GPU's
got a question..not a big thing but i just thought of it..if I were to place my 8800gtx along with my 285..besides physx, would I gain any performance like normal SLI or nah? I read on Nvidia website that if you mix cards with different memory amounts you could use Coolbits to force the card with more memory to just run with same amount the other card has..so basically my gtx285 would only use 768MB of its 1GB memory since the 8800 has 768 if read correctly..has anyone tried this or have any thoughts? im just wanting to see what if anything would happen

Re: Question on Mixing GPU's
not possible to SLI an 8800GTX to a GTX280 from my understanding.

Re: Question on Mixing GPU's
I didn't think so either but i was going through their site and it caught my eye..it wasn't very specific on what card can be done..it just said different memory configurations. here's the link

It is kind of vague and doesn't say whether it can be different series or not..I was sure that different vendors wasn't an issue as long as the specs were identical....if not..oh well..i just thought it would be pretty cool if that was possible
