New Egg and the 7800 GTX

Post by Fogey »

I got off work last night at midnight so I come home and hop on the internet. Just for the heck of it I go to New Egg to see if they have the 7800 GTX up and listed. They have three brands listed and all sell for $599.00 and are in stock. {I was eyeing up the EVGA mostly}. Then I go check out a couple other places, no luck, come back to New Egg and no more 7800 GTX's. Interesting. So, I sent New Egg a "complaint" E-mail about dashing ones hopes and all. Noticed this morning they don't have any reference to it at all, not even in the drop down menu under graphic chipsets. Don't know if someone at New Egg put it up before they were supposed to or what. Wished I would have gotten some screen shots. Dang!!!

Monarch Computers has had them online since yesterday also... As of 9:30am Central time they are in stock and ready to be shipped. Newegg & Zipzoomfly both aren't showing them on their sites.

I got two LEADTEK PX6800 GT's in my Asus SLi rig.
I'm going to get the Evga's 7800gtx's. I'll use the two "Older" 6800's in another couple project's I got planned on down the road. Project one: Aopen pentium M full size ATX, Project two: not sure at this time, but something allways comes along.
