GTX 260 black edition by XFX vs ASUS 4870

Post by hercules71185 »

Benchmarks will be posted soon, but, my actual QUESTION is why is it that when you look at review after review. Is it either Nvidia killing the 4870 and 4890 then you look at other trusted sites and it's the opposite, comparing the GTX core 216 to the lower model 4850. I'm extremely confused. Isn't the GTX supposed to be a nice amount faster?

Hurry up and post some results! I've wondered about the difference the DDR5 memory makes.
MSI Meg X570 Unify | Ryzen 3900X | Noctuna NH-U12A | G.Skill RipJaws DDR4 3600 16GB | Samsung 970 Pro 512GB M.2 NVMe | (2) WD Blue 3TB Backups | MSI 2060 Super Gaming X | Meshify - C | SB X-Fi

lol Estimated delivery will be Thursday!!! Why do I always get shafted for newegg shipping?!?! I paid for 2 day. I get ground. They said it was supposed to take 2 days from the location so they refunded me $7 but it doesn't make it come here any faster!
I'll do some benching with
1680x1050 1440x900
0AA
2xAA
4xAA
8xAA
Crysis (and warhead)
COD 4
COD WOW
GRID
Unreal Tournament 3
All the 3dmarks

Base system will be the $400 gamer. Both cards would put me in the range so it could be an either or for anyone who wants a cheap gamer
E5200 @3.9
2x2GB OCZ DDR2 1000
cheapo P35 motherboard. (MSI platinum)

And so you know I'm not using a STOCK ATI vs a black edition overclocked GTX, I'm doing it with a ASUS dark knight 4870.

I'll post the screenies and results tonight, I am on my way to the beach, simply put, the 4870 seems to do better in less shader intensive games, and when the shaders get heavy the Nvidia dominates it.
Example, crysis GPU flyby, ati wins, But, CPU test where you get the explosions, Nvidia runs away with the win.
