9800gtx+ SLI ot working

So i just bought another 9800gtx+ and installed it. I have the latest driver for my chipset and GPU yet when i go to the nvidia control panel and enable SLI the screen goes blank then reapears but my GPU drivers stopped working and Nvidia control panel Crashes and i then need to reinstall my GPU Drivers.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? the MB is quite new so perhaps a chipset problem (980a)?

Ive Tried both cards Individually and they work fine not to mention the driver 178.84 works fine but no other drivers work.

any ideas whats going on? is it hardware or software issues?

PLEASE HELP ME!

what are your other specs on that pc?(such as power supply and what not)..I can tell it's an AMD cpu with that chipset

if it is a driver issue and SLI, i've had the best luck with 181.20 CUDA drivers *Click here*
