Talk about thermal paste on the ram chips!

Image

I've been told by other BFG 7800GTX users this thermal paste on mem chips hampers mem ocs a bit as well.

Installed now with 77.72 WHQL drivers both have .25 bios and seems to have correct 460/1300 clocks

So far BFG 7800GTXs are doing fine although slightly disappointed with mem clocks so far mem can only go to 1380-1390mhz compared to some i've seen do 1450mhz on mem heh. Core does a nice 513mhz (+40mhz geometric) = ~553mhz.

2D speed is pretty low though clocked at 275mhz on the core.

easy cpu clock with BFG 7800GTXs

Temperatures

With 92x38mm Sunon 120cfm fan on rheobus @1/2 speed blowing on back of video cards allows GPU idle temps to drop alot and get a bump in max mem clocks from 1386mhz to 1397mhz.

no fan
GPU idle = 45-46C at startup first time and 50-53C idling in windows for sometime.
GPU load = 76-86C

with 92x38mm Sunon 120cfm fan
GPU idle = 40-41C startup first time and 45-46C idling in windows for sometime
GPU load = 73-83C

here's with the 92x38mm sunon 120cfm fan @1/2 speed

In SLI mode, 3d2k05 and 3d2k05 are cpu limited. You really need a beefy cpu to really take advantage of these cards in SLI

Anyway couldn't resist landing myself officially in 3D2k3 Hall of Fame http://www.futuremark.com/community/halloffame/ (Had to take advantage of the 30+k bug heh)

3dmark2003 = 29,975

Wonder what it would take to break 13k in 3d2k05 ?

3dmark05 = 13,270

That makes you 10th overall in 3dmark '05 :supz:

3dmark '01 ??
That system must own '01?

Have you tought about a H2O setup on thoose cards?
If I was you, Sell that 3700+ and get a FX57.
There is a serious bottlekneck with that cpu in SLI.

Please say you have a hi-res monitor :P

Congrats!

SLI + Non-hires monitor + slow CPU = +3h b4D. Nice job though, OC them and use liquid nitro to keep them cold...you'll set records that won't be beat for at least six months (LOL)...
