According to our info, Nvidia will officially launch Geforce G210 and GT 220 cards on Monday, October 12th. Despite the fact that these cards are still under NDA, MSI's GT 220 had a brief celebrity moment and got pictured.

We are quite sure that MSI will launch at least two, if not more, cards on Monday, but for now, we have nice pictures of its N220GT-MD1G-OC model, a factory overclocked GT 220 card with 1GB of GDDR3 memory. As you can see from the picture below, despite the fact that this is an overclocked model, this 40nm DirectX 10.1 card doesn't need an additional PCI-Express power connector.

The GPU features 48-stream processors, a 128-bit memory interface and reference clocks of around 615MHz for the core, 1335MHz for shaders and 1580MHz for memory. This OC edition will probably work on higher clocks and many other partners will show theirs one the NDA is lifted. The card has DVI, D-Sub and HDMI outputs and features non-reference PCB and non reference cooler.

What good will 1GB of memory do on a low-end card?

Weaksauce. I can see this being a little slower that the 9600 GT. I can't see this being priced more than 60 bucks.

You would be surprised at how many people think that more video memory = better video card. [-X

I see low-end cards all the time with lots of memory...just to trick the public into buying them.
