Personally, I think the 7800 GT is a better value than the GTX...

Very true, but what about performance? Think it can stack up against the GTX? And is it very easily overclocked? If you can OC a GT to GTX, then I would be definitely tempted to go with the GT.

C'mon man, read some reviews!
yeah, I know I need to start doing so, if it weren't for me having to bury myself in Cisco with every living moment, I would have read quite a few. Most of the ones I read are on this site, so I believe I'll start hunting some more sources. Probably start with Anandtech, after I read the reviews you posted. Gimme a break btw, me poor brain is burned out when I get home from school and a 40-hour work week, lol

the GT has 20 pipelines... the GTX has 24!
few games need the power of the GTX... but in the future, they will.. I'd prefer a GTX than a GT OC'd.... but yeah gvblake22 is right... they are better value... unless you can get a good OC out of a GTX ;)

I was thinking this: go the water-cooled path and go for the GTX, mainly because of the fact I believe you can get one heck of an OC out of a GTX. It would seem to me there would be a little extra headroom, but I could be wrong. I need to read a few more reviews, like Blake said, so I can understand the differences more clearly, besides the fact the GTX has 4 more pipelines than the GT. We'll see what happens
