ASUS GTS 250 T.O.P & reference 450 review leaked!

Post by skier »

a full review of the ASUS GeForce GTS 450 TOP went live a bit early and gpudesign.bafree.net took the opportunity to post these pictures up -which are still up for the world to see, I figured some of you guys aren't trusting but might want to check the pics out without having to be linked away from our safe little community so i put them on my photobucket and here they are :) There are a couple more pictures and many more charts on the gpudesign site if you would like to see testing at different resolutions such as 1600x1200 and 1280x1024.
Following the previous posts (1 , 2) about the specs and availability of the GTS 450, a full review appeared online for a while and was deleted by its source because of the NDA! We signed no agreement, so lets take a look at the full review

looking through the charts, a 5770 is close across the board (the ref. 450 is basically an original GTX 260, but optimized for tessellation)

also from the retail box, the TOP is getting a 925MHz core speed!

If it overclocks anything like the GTX 460 then this is the card to get, for cheap people like me.

broader range doesn't translate into how it performs on average, and its a 768MB 460 vs a 1GB 450 and we all know how big a difference there is between the 1GB and 768MB 460's

Well with the updated benchmarks I'm not that impressed. If the price on it were lower then I would be. I guess I'll have to hold reservations until we see some overclocking numbers. At this point the GTX 460 is an overclocking beast (especially the 768MB models).

I want a single slot Fermi!!! Especially for my PhysX stuff so my 480 doesn't get bogged down.
