I see that it's out but some of my usual haunts don't have it yet, but EVGA does have it in stock and for sale. So, I ordered one. Sad that it took so long for them to understand there is still a large market out there whom still have AGP and wish to upgrade their AGP video without moving over to PCI-E

I think I read in the PR that it will be released at Best Buy on Sunday and other e-Tailors a few days later.

e-tail on Monday, February 6, 2006. We are announcing on Thursday, February 2, 2006, because Friday, Saturday and Sunday are not ideal days to do a product launch, and we need to announce the product so consumers know what it is when it hits store shelves on Sunday morning.

I ordered mine early Friday Direct from EVGA. I saw yesterday they had all of them listed as Back Ordered. I can only guess they sold out rather fast.
Just another way fror Nvidia to up one on ATI in the AGP market so that perhaps ATI will respond and the battle lines will go back and forth along with the sales of graphics cards. What a scam, and I'm helping fuel the beast. If it wasen't for this P4-3.4 EE socket 478, I wouldn't be going this route.
This will more than likely be the last uprade for my P4-EE machine. Top of the line today-midrange tommorow-old school in a few months. Sigh.....

If the GeForce 7800 GS AGP had 4 more pixel pipes, or cost about $100 less dollars, we might be able to look you in the eye and say, go for it. Overall, I think most our readers that are still using AGP systems would be better served by moving their upgrade path to more promising horizons.

you can't help but wonder what the hell somebody at NVIDIA was thinking when they decided the GeForce 7800 GS AGP should be a eunuch.

I totally agree with this article written by the videocard experts @ MVKTech.
why neutere a good performer, just because it's an AGP?
also: It's OK to have a lesser card but why does it cost $80 more than a more powerfull GT?

I like the XFX XT Overclocked edition. REALLY fast, for AGP. I might just buy one...
