DirectX 10.0 Compatible Video Cards

Post by TK421 »

nVidia FTW! (sorry, had to get that out first)

How long will it be before games can utilize the technologies of DirectX 10.0?

I plan on waiting to make my next video card purchase when they become available, but am I really waiting for something that much better? The reason I'm waiting is because NOT ONE of the current video cards on the market will support DirectX 10.0.

Can anyone shed some light on it for me?

Well DX10 isnt officially out until Vista, who's launch has been pushed back to least till early 07 is it now?

So you'll be waiting quite a while :P

What card have you got at the moment, and can you wait that long?

I think the ATI X1900 and 7900 cards are semi-DX10, as in they support WGF 1.0, which is going to be the new names for DX, DX10 = WGF2.0.

Or so ive gathered from reading stuff!
