My 7900GTXs failed!

Post by Sovereign »

Disco Far Cry anyone? "Gems" all over the skybox, artifacts any time 8xAA was used....thankfully the 2D capabilities work so I can still use my computer for non-gaming stuff...

Are the fans on the cards working? I had a similiar problem with my 6800GT and it was directly related to the fan located on the card failing and causing the card to overheat. Just a thought.

Unfortunately, the cards were of the stock clocked EGS variety. I did no overclocking, and eVGA warrants you even if you do. Further, I stuck my finger into the top card's fan trying to see if it was working :(. Ouch. However, they are cross-shipping, so it's good, unless the new cards fail too.

Been hearing a lot about problems with the 7900GT(X)'s memory chips on the eVGA forums. Apparently a little problem with the quality control from nVidia's supplier.

Hope they get it taken care of soon. Been almost a month and I've still no word on my Step-Up for the 7900GT KO SC.
