Are ALL 7900GTs Defective?

Post by markkleb »

I have always had good luck with Ati cards, (no bad ones in 3 years)

I reciently switched to Nvidia(just for a change) I was running a pair of XFX 7600GS in SLI and after a couple of weeks 1 died. They couldnt replace it cause it was the XXX version and they had no more. So I switched to the 7600GTs. It works fine.
but a LOT of my friends have the 7900 GTs and almost everyone has a RMA story.
Is this a Driver problem, a factory OC problem or a Nvidia problem?
I am 24% addicted to Counterstrike. What about you?

Biostar 590/AMD 6400+
2 Gigs of Ballistix Tracers
2 WD 160Gig in Raid0
8800GTs in SLI
PC Power & Cooling 510(highly modified)

Case Changes Weekly, lol

From what I heard on eVGA's forums, it was primarily an issue with bad batches of memory.

Thus the entire revamp of the 7900 line:
