Geforce 4 ti4600

Post by dgood »

so my one of my friends gave me his old geforce 4 ti4600 to upgrade the mx440 and mx420's that I had lying around to use in my extra lan comp. (not exactly high performance). so double the ram and a decent boost in clock speeds I was in. Only thing he didn't tell me was that the fan was dead on it. So I decided to nut up and buy an aftermarket cooler for the old thing just because I felt like it and I could then overclock it as much as possible. Image
so here it is. Anyone have one of these they have overclocked in the past? I looked up some old overclocks on forums and have yet to see them stable on the new one but just thought I'd show you what i'm rocking in my older p4 2.4ghz with 640mb of ram. the albatron ti4600.that ran even with my old 8500 back in the day.

yup 4200's will still play many games at lower resolutions of course... It's worth it for free!

you'll get good clocks, the MX440 clocked up like 35% for me. I used a Tt Extreme spirit II chipset cooler on it

I can get better clocks but I think the card has an issue of locking up when it gets warm and It did that at stock clocks too. but hey the card was free just paid little for the cooler.

I wanted one of those cards so bad when they came out but i instead decided to wait for the next generation, i still regret it to this day because I ended up getting an FX 5200 lol.

As a fellow owner of a Ti4600 (it powers my workstation), I just gotta say that it rocks to run the old stuff!

I can even play some HL2 from time to time on the card :).

Once you have played games at 1280x1024/960, you would settle for playing at anything lower than that.
