Booooo!!! I never expected a 7900GS to score this low. Looks about the same to what other people are getting with this card though.

I haven't ever seen a review of a 450mhz 7900GS, but I expected more than this on stock settings. I'm sure with an overclock I can bring it up, but I need to spend another $30 to replace the stock cooler first. Should have bit the bullet and gotten that X1950Pro when it was on sale, it would have been more cost effective.

thats not too bad, i get 12k with the rig in my sig, and the big difference would probably be the 1gb of ram compaired to the 2gb most people have nowadays

cyber tomorrow at some point I'll bench my GT and see what I get. The clocks are about the same. As for a cooler grab the VF900, great cooler, my HWbot scores are mostly obtained with an air cooler.
But I think that score is right. Most oced GSes top out at 10K

Considering the GS is a bit slower than the GT, that score seems normal but it is a bit low but not by much.

The 7900GS has been known to be a good overclocker so you could try that.

I'd say that score is on par with stock speeds as well... Time to OC that sucker ;)

OC to 495/1410 raised the score to 7959, getting closer to that 10,000, and now I'm beating the guy with the Acer mobo.
Do you think it is worthwhile to use Arctic Silver instead of the paste they provide? I am considering the VF700-Cu or VF700-AlCu. Hopefully the XFX bracket won't get in the way.

if he's on XP there won't be anymore. The 9x.00 series of drivers was the last to support cards for XP. All future drivers will be used for vista
