NVIDIA has released a new version of nTune, its GPU and platform overclocking utility, to NVIDIA.com. The version is 5.05.38 and supports Windows XP (32/64-bit) and Windows Vista (32/64-bit).
This updated version of nTune fixes some key problems with NVIDIA ForceWare drivers Windows Vista v158.18 and Windows XP v158.19. We have documented some of the key fixes below:
Windows XP
Fixed issue in which radio control buttons on the GPU clock control page were not working with non-English language packs installed.
Fixed problem with GPU overclocking while using the auto tuning feature, the service may fail to return on a restart and tuning will not complete. Note: Some GPU cards may not support auto tuning under Windows Vista until a future driver release. These cards may still be manually overclocked.
Windows Vista
Fixed problem when using previous versions of nTune with the latest v158.18 driver, the Graphics Control Panels settings would disappear.
Fixed problem with nTune not working with Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC) settings.
Fixed problem with GPU overclocking while using the auto tuning feature, the service may fail to return on a restart and tuning will not complete. Note: Some GPU cards may not support auto tuning under Windows Vista until a future driver release. These cards may still be manually overclocked.
Fixed issue in which the GPU clock reported was not correct after a resolution change.
