Game Problems

My system
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ @ 2.0ghz
1GB Ram
XP Media Centre
Navida GeForce 6150 Le <-Integrated
20.1 Wide

3 games I play
Unreal Tournament 04
C.S 1.6
SilkRoad

I experience bad performance on all these games and yes I know my graphics card sucks(will change in June), but the issue is these games run well on my friends computer and he has the same graphics card but different processor athlon running @ 2.4 ghz (non dual core).
Another note is cs 1.6 runs perfectly well on my old celeron 2.4 with an integrated intel extreme 2..

I searched for a solution, yes looked into those optimizers but nothing works, I tried updating my graphics card drivers which results in a more laggy game.

CS 1.6
Freeze at different points, like every 10 min or during group fights

UT04 + Silkroad
When moving, I start at my original position or a different point... in the extreme case.. i would be moved back to a position i was 20 seconds before.. but during the 20 seconds everything seems fine.. i can see other people move, game looks completely normal.

If anyone has any suggestions I am fully for it.. thx

drop your resolution a lot, like 1024X768, those pauses your experiencing is because the GPU can't keep up, your FPS is probably dropping under 10

first try closing background processes with a program such as EndItAll(just be careful not to close nessary processes)
try turning down the resolution
also keep and eye on temps. could be reason for crash
finally the reason your friends computer plays better is that the games are singlethreaded and only uses one core of your cpu and since he has a higher clock speed...

Thats the thing.. my fps for cs ranges from 30-60.. it only drops when someone uses a smoker gernade.. I tried the resolution.. well for cs anyway and it didn't help.. i can't figure out how to change it on silkroad or UT04 since i just started to play those games.. will look into it

thx for the help :D

the 6150 really eats up your system's ram... I had this card a while ago and hated it.

Also, CS probably doesnt even support dual core, so you would only be running it on one core.

as for the other games, I havent played them, so I dont know.

Upgrade your gfx card and you will see a huge jump in speed because your ram will be free from the gfx card.

I bought a xfx7600gt and on stalker, went from static lighting and minimum settings at 20fps to dynamic lighting and high settings at 40 fps
