Engineering sample dothan

Whats the difference between engineering sample cpu's i see on ebay and normal oem cpu's?

Nothing at all... They were just the first ones made, so in terms of overclocking they are not that great. I've had both and all my retail ones that i bought were better than the ES samples.

Generally your will find the ES samples have being tortured in their lives.....
because people like Apop has had their hands on them B4 you....

Stick with retail/oem cpu's.....as Apop says, they are newer....AMD/Intel release an ES sample to sites like this, they are normally released under NDA so Apop can benchmark it and have an article ready to publish on the same day the CPU is released.....

i agree those ES have been through a lot of pain
and unless you ES from an relaesed product then it is not worth the trouble
