Just ordered my Dell e1705

Post by blue »

Well, Dell wouldn't replace my screen on the 9300 with a better model so that one is going back and I have ordered the replacement.

I've never just gone pretty much 'all out' on a laptop or even close to it, so here's my system.

Cost me about $670 more than the sweet 9300 I am returning. (sweet other than the crappy WSXGA+ monitor)

My choice was between the 9400 and e1705. I went with the e1705 for a few reasons:

1) It has Windows MCE, which would make it easier to use it as a DVR later on if I buy the tv tuner.

2) I could not apply the $650 off coupon to the 9400 for some reason.

3) the Dual Layer DVD burner was thrown in for free on the e1705.

I think they are basically the same system with different pricing structures.-

Speaking of which, I'm going to start a thread about putting together a notebook for my wife. Thanks for reminding me. :)
