I want to give everyone a heads up that GSkill PC2-4200 memory is not compatable with the Asus Z63A. I have tested in two different Z63A's and RMA'ed the memory once already, both sticks and both laptops got the same result. No post, no bios, no screen. I am waiting to hear back from GSkill but I would not suggest buying their memory for any 915 based Asus laptop until i can verify that the problem has been resloved.
This is not a GSkill bashing thread, just an FYI for people looking to buy this combo or having problems with this. I dont want you to be with out your laptop like i have been for several weeks because of this memory problem.

Well at least they respond fast, lets see how quick they resolve the problem.Hi
The chance to get two defective memories is very low. I believe there might
be compatible issues with Asus Z63A. I will inform Asus laptop Dept. and
discuss with them. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
Best regards,

Any updates? I would really like to get my laptop working seeing as
it is for school.
Notice the times on this... so far very impressed by G.Skill's Tech support's communication.GSkill wrote:From: G.Skill US Rep <[email protected]>

Good luck with that. Seems as though the DOA % for laptop memory is much higher than regular memory. I got one dead SODIMM when I ordered my 2gb OCZ DDR2 memory and I've read tons of reports of DOA's on newegg. It's not specific to any brand, it seems like all of them get a fair amount of DOA's.
I hope they get that issue resolved quickly though, it sucks not having your laptop(I know, mine has been back to Dell twice already for repairs).
