need new wireless card

Post by DeusEx »

I have an Asus z71v laptop and my wireless card has started to malfunction. generally speaking it is no longer usable (i tried reinstalling the newest drivers, and reinstalled windows twice to no avail, it still wont work). I have an Intel 2915abg wireless card and now i need to either upgrade to a better one or buy the same one. What is my laptop compatible with ? id like to buy a decent wireeless card from intel.

i just looked at "Intel Pro/wireless 3945ABG Network Connection" card. Would this one be compatible with my computer ?

Have you considered an adapter card for notebooks?
Such as the Linksys WPC54GS.

WUSB54GSC or GS. Go with USB. Its easier to use and always compatible even if you get another Laptop. The best Adapter I have ever used. Gets near perfect reception in any situation

Thats pretty much it after you load the drivers!

The reason I brought up the adapter card is simply because I happen to have one here that I am not using anymore. My Toshiba laptops mobo took a permanent vacation and my new laptop has built in wireless so I dont need the wireless adapter anymore!
If you're interested PM me!

I've never used a USB connection but I've never read anything bad about them either!
If dicecca112 says they are good, then I'm sure they are!

You can if you want but all that should be needed is to disable it in the Device Manager!
That way you dont have to open the case!
