so last weekend my friend gave me his old sony laptop computer, which works perfectly. right now i'm running winxp sp2 and it's great. it has a 20gb hard drive and 512mb RAM. does anyone know if is it possible to upgrade the CPU on this kind of a laptop? i haven't opened it up but if no one knows i will see if the motherboard is socketed or if they just solder it on to the board. i wouldn't mind bumping up the speed of this beast a little bit.
EDIT: ok, i just ran CPU-z, sandra, and checked the windows properties and apparently the processor is a 1ghz mobile athlon 4 running with a 100mhz FSB. it also says it is using a socket A. so does anyone know the fastest CPU i could use on this computer with a 100MB FSB? also, is overclocking even an option? thanks.
