laptop screen wont turn on.

well i started to get this problem today. (i have asus z71v with nvidia 6600 go as shown in the sig). i turn on the laptop and everything seems to work bu the screen remains dark. what could be the problem? Video card?

Could be, did you check the brightness adjustment to make sure it didnt get turned all the way down somehow?. plug in an external monitor and hit the keys to activate the secondary monitor? if that works then its either your backlight (or component) or Display.

im certain that the brightness did not get turned down.So anyone here has a spare nvidia 6600 go with 128 mb ? I would buy it -.-. ill make a new post for that

Did you ever fix this problem? I just had a buddy of mine have his LCD display go bad on his Z71V -- looks like after 3 years they are having some issues.
