ASUS Shows Off 8.9" Eee PC 900

Post by Apoptosis »

Looks like the 8.9" ASUS Eee PC is getting closer. Having a 1024x600 resolution s going to be a lot nicer than the original 800x480 resolution.

The wait is nearly over for an Eee PC with a larger screen. DailyTech reported in early January that ASUS was hard at work on an 8.9" version of its wildly popular Eee PC sub-notebook. Today, images and details are finally rolling out for the highly-anticipated update.

Engadget was able to fondle ASUS's new Eee PC at CeBIT, but ASUS officials would not allow the publication to boot the machine up -- likely for fear of spilling the beans on the Eee PC's processor/chipset. However, we do know that the Eee PC 900 will feature 1GB of memory and will be available in storage capacities up to 12GB (up from 8GB max on the current Eee PC).

Thought you said you broke it in a fight, for a minute there.

If the price isn't much more than the current EEE's then they have a killer model with the larger screen.

im gonna try to talk to the school board at my school about buying Eee's instead of renewing their contract with apple, seeing as our iBook g4's are 7 years old and worthless, and getting these would probably be cheaper than buying from apple.

"Engadget was able to fondle ASUS's new Eee PC at CeBIT" That sounds so dirty.

I once worked on a german laptop, and it took me forever to log in to the server because I kept hitting the wrong key, but didn't realize it was only Y and Z that were switched.

I have been thinking about purchasing an EEE PC, but I am afriad it will be so dumbed down that it won't have the functionality that I want.

Also, if the new larger screen makes the price go up anywhere past $400, they are going to be competing with the low end full size laptop market, IE this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834115426
