http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/W ... AppleStore. Do you think the Macbookpro is worth the money? Or, what should I get instead?

Which version you thinking about getting?
And what do you plan on doing with it?

17" glossy Macbook pro. 4 gigs memory, 7200 rpm hard drive. I plan on using it for photos and video editing. I plan on getting a new Sony video camara soon as well. One of those new 120 harddrives with hi-def. Of course folding with smp client. Use it in the truck for directions and for camping to watch videos and pictures I and Natasha take on road trips. She might need it to connect to work while we are on the road. Will have to dual boot for her to connect to work. I was thinking of 2.6 processor.

That sounds good, the macbook pros are great, unless you're trying to have a baby, of course. they will kill your reproductive organs.

They run quite hot...
PSA: Excessive heat is NOT good for the male reproductive system.

Thanks

I thought with the 45nm chip they would run cooler. If they still run that hot I should look for something else.

don't go just by what i said, my friend has a 65nm MacBook Pro, and it got up to... oh, say 70*C (ouch), but i haven't tried the new ones, you should at least try one, maybe at the apple store, but i would still assume that it would run extremely hot.
