Hi, new to the forums. I just decided to join because I've always got some sort of question about a computer and thought having a consistent reference would be nice.
Anyways, I have a Compaq R4000 laptop in need of a new screen. About a year or so ago, my dad felt the need to punch the screen out. From what I can tell, everything else surrounding the screen works fine but I'm growing tired of have to have it hooked up to a monitor. After checking ebay from time to time, the lowest I've seen for a screen tends to be about $70 or so. Is there anywhere I can get a new screen for cheaper?

Probably not.
The only other place I would have thought you could get hold of one from would be Compaq's spare parts department, and if they have any around, I wouldn't have thought they'd be cheap.
