GPS cant connect to Sattellite

Post by skier »

so we got a Magellan Roadmate 1220 for my sister to use in boston, it can view a map easily enough, but for live use, it cant get a connection

there arent any updates for it, and user error is a decent possibility, any help is appreciated

Not intended to be a sarcastic question, but you brought up user error... Do they have a clear view of the sky without any trees or buildings in the way?

it doesnt get reception anywhere along i95 between western maine and boston at least, i've never seen it connected, so im not sure if certain models cant connect on say, the east coast, and normally GPSs pick up where you are when you select 'view map', and keeps track as you move, this one does not, you can search the area for things like stores and such normally, you just have it use it as a regular map instead of an interactive one that keeps track of where you are and tells you how to get there
