okay guys, i have my sisters laptop because we traded since i don't use mine particularly often, and i just ran PCMARK05, it got a 2376, BUT, i had Coretemp open the whole time(no temp sensor app had been used before today) and during some tests it was bouncing off its 100C TJ MAX and staying above 90C primarily
should i tear it down and replace thermal compound(i have taken it apart recently,(didnt apply AS5) and it wasnt THAT dusty), or just scrap it

now it runs 31C 37C idle

looks like up to 82 is still the load temps, but thats basically as good as it'll get so at least its not bouncing off the TJ MAX anymore in PCMARK
ugh, the later tests still reach mid 90s

is there a way to bump the fan speed? (there is only 1 fan, and it blows onto the heatsink and out the back of the laptop) these temps are still unacceptable.

that app works, but i just noticed the CPU isnt being throttled, so its staying at 1.66GHz instead of dropping to 1GHz intel speedstep IS enabled, and power management is enabled in windows, but neither is doing anything
