I am thinking about buying an HTC Droid Eris. It has the price point of a flip phone, and the functionality of a smart phone and uses Google's Android OS. I am wondering if anyone has one and would be able to tell me how they like it.
Every online review says the same thing, so I am looking for something more personal to help sway my decision. I understand that it will be upgraded to Android 2.1 in early 2010, so the 1.5 version doesn't bother me (unless I must use the verizon network to upgrade it).
Along with the smart phone I have now, I will not be getting a smart phone plan. I don't want to pay the additional $50/month for surfing the web on a tiny screen.
Any input is helpful.
Anyone have an HTC Droid?

Nevermind. I found out that Verizon requires you to purchase a data plan for atleast $29.99 if you buy this phone.

Yep, I think most of the carriers are doing that now. Personally I'm waiting for Jan 1 and then I'll have the Samsung Moment!
