I’ve been having a friend that is fairly familiar with iTunes and Ipods try to figure out some issues and try to setup the wife’s Nano.

”My issue is I’ve tried synching an 8gb I pod Nano 4th generation, the small one with color screen.
According to iTunes there should be room for all music (200+) its only copied 33 songs and from what iTunes has said there is room.

The other issue is I’ve tried to synch some copied cd with no luck on importing them into iTunes I’ve tried all different formats with still no luck.”

Also when trying to download to the Nano, it’ll list 100+ errors and state songs/music file can not be found. However it will play the “missing” file from the burned CD or HDD.

can you access the file browser for the ipod from 'my computer'? or does it have to sync itself?

(never personally owned an ipod, just used one, one or two times, should get one just to help troubleshoot for ppl  )

You can't access an Ipod as a storage device via windows. Unless you hack, you have to use Itunes.

Sounds like it's a problem with your device more than a problem with Itunes. Can you sync the music from this device to another PC with Itunes? (I am guessing a bit. My brother has an Ipod not me)

Ah, see YOU are wrong there ck. You can't use an iPod Touch through Windows, but I believe that iPod classic, Nano and Shuffle are all accessible through Windows once you tick the right box in iTunes. It's somewhere near manual syncing. I don't personally own an iPod, but my Dad has a touch and we did a lot of research only to find that it's not possible on Touches except with hackzx.
