I have just discovered the hard way that slim IDE 5" notebook optical drives vary widely in size and shape. I have a Pioneer DVR-K05 from CDW that is now useless to me. I will be contacting CDW Monday to see about the possibility of returning this product, but I am worried that it has been too long. If this is the case, how do I go about finding an external case that will fit this drive so that I can use it as an external USB or firewire drive with my laptop? Would I be better off taking a loss of money and simply buying the Asus DVD burner and selling this Pioneer on eBay instead of setting up an external drive and buying the cheaper Asus DVD-ROM drive?
