Need Opinions on the Toshiba QOSMIO

I read pretty good product reviews. I am looking to purchase the system to run World of Warcraft...Any views?

bahh!! build your own.. save yourself probably atleast 500 bucks. In my non professional opinion, i would not see any problem running WoW.

In terms of general performance I'd ask you to recall the demo on the notebook that I built playing was 20-40fps at widescreen resolutions online in WoW. If you were happy with the way that looked then you will be happy with the Toshiba Qosmio G25 notebook. The Toshiba Qosmio G25 pre-built notebook, would perform the same as the one in the workshop. The only major difference is the fact that the Toshiba you are looking at has a 17" monitor!

Building your own or buying a pre-built one should give you rougly the same performance levels it all depends on how much money you want to spend and the level of involvement.

I think I'm going to go with the pre-built simply because right now I prefer the convenience..

But a few friends and myself will be splitting the cost of a custom built laptop to experiement and if all goes well...one of them will reimburse the funds to the other "investors" ..

The workshop was AMAZING! It was interesting and very thought provoking..everyone was great besides the boring intel chick...But you made up for it all!

Personally, I think Toshiba laptops are pretty overpriced for what you get. They do look nice though. But I like alot of performance for my dollar, so I'm leaning toward laptops like this:

I'm 100% sure this will run WoW better than my desktop as well as many of the other new games coming out. The major differences compared to the one you've listed is the screen size (17" vs 15.4"), 2.0Ghz processor vs. 1.7Ghz, and HDD size (60GB vs 120GB).

My listed machine will have the 256MB version of the same card (GeForce 6600 Go), so gaming power would be increased, but you'd sacrifice screen size, HDD capacity and some processing power.

Personally, I couldn't justify the extra costs for playing WoW, but if that's what you've gotta have, I support your decision fully. Just thought I'd share my research with you as a major WoW player myself.

BTW, I enjoyed BlizzCon as well and yes, it was a great panel, Nate! This will be my first whitebook!

I purchased the Toshiba about a month ago..and it was been well worth it...not only does WOW run better than anything i have ever seen, I have used its multimedia functions to my full advantage...

Its a great system,..i dont regret the purchase..

But my friends and I are in the middle of building our first notebook...we have already started to order the parts....Cant wait to share the results!

Look forward to compairing building experiences....
