Is there a laptop with a 939 socket and MXM III graphics?

Post by Smapdi »

I would like to make my own laptop but I'm really interested in one that can accept high end AMD processors (socket 939, not 754) and MXM III graphics. I know they make notebooks with these specs at the uber-expensive places like widowpc, so I know the technology exists, but I just cant find a barebone system that can support this. The closest I've found was the ASUS z81SP at rjtech http://www.rjtech.com/miva/merchant.mv? ... de=A-Z81SP but this is an intel platform not AMD and I've heard it runs pretty hot. Just wondering if I'm looking in the wrong places or if technology hasn't caught up with my dreams yet.

Some of the HP laptops are using 939 sockets. I was a little shocked about this but I'm basing this finding on what I read on another forum where the owner of a HP laptop actually was planning to upgrade the 939 proc and has already confirmed that a 939 proc is in the system. Now if you can find out who makes HP's laptop mobos.... :)

Thanks for all the replies, I did some more homework and it looks like Sager has built their NP9750 off of the Clevo D900k chassis. You can take a look at it from the clevo website at http://www.clevo.com.tw/products/D900K.asp
