Just hours ago Dell said that it is recalling batteries installed in some laptop computers it sold in the United States over the past year, citing an overheating problem with potential to pose a fire risk.
Consumers can contact Dell at (866)-342-0011 or http://www.dellbatteryprogram.com to see if their laptops are among those affected by the recall.

The batteries were installed in some 22,000 laptops that Dell sold from October 2004 to October 2005.

The recalled batteries were sold separately and with Dell notebook computers in the United States, including the Latitude D410, D505, D510, D600, D610, D800, D810; Inspiron 510M, 600M, 6000, 8600, 9200, 9300, XPS Gen 2; and Dell Precision M20 and M70 mobile workstations.
