Toshiba unveiled its next-generation Qosmio A/V notebook PC at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The Qosmio notebook PC is the first A/V notebook to support the high-definition DVD (HD DVD) format and Dolby Home Theater. The HD DVD-ROM drive in the Qosmio will provide support for Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD audio decoders. I got a chance to play with the upcoming Toshiba Qosmio during CES and it is the first working retail channel notebook with working HD-DVD that I have seen.

Those are soooooo nice. If I had the money to burn on a pre-built 17" notebook, that would be the system for me. I've drooled over the old version in Best Buy a couple of times, man are they built well. The finish is extremely nice and they seem solid as a rock. That would be a great multimedia laptop to watch movies on.
