i5-3210M processor Vs i5-2450M processor

Post by PSPFrK29 »

Hello guys,
My knowledge on processors is very weak so Im hoping you guys can help me out. Im getting a laptop this week and need a decision quick, but I have two laptops in my mind and hoping you guys can narrow it to one and which is the best one. Its an Asus laptop.

Laptop 1
3rd Gen Intel® Core™ i5-3210M processor
Features a 3MB L3 cache and 2.5GHz processor speed.

Laptop 2
Intel® Core™ i5-2450M processor
Features a 3MB L3 cache and 2.5GHz processor speed with Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz.

I dont know much about cache and stuff but I know about the speed if you can explain further that would be helpful. I did my research that 3rd gen Intel its actually the newest generation now but does it make a sense to get that when Laptop 2 has 2.5Ghz and can speed up to 3.1Ghz..Idk guys im so confuse which one to get, its mainly for school and you know gaming just a lil bit, just a little bit of everything where i can multitask without getting lag or slow down in any way. If you guys can also help me out by not just telling me which one is better but to also explain to me what is better than the one and the other. Heres the link of the 2 laptops.

Ivy Bridge is the latest and greatest from Intel so it will probably be a little faster. Honestly though it's probably nothing you would notice in using the PC day-to-day.
