the best virus and spyware killer is kaspersky antivirus. since I use it, my rig is safe (it automatically updates deffinitions every 4h). also don't use IE. use firefox. it's much safer for browsing.

I have Kaspersky set at 3 hours on my network at home. Kaspersky happens to be one of the few that thought what Sony did was wrong.sbohdan wrote:the best virus and spyware killer is kaspersky antivirus. since I use it, my rig is safe (it automatically updates deffinitions every 4h). also don't use IE. use firefox. it's much safer for browsing.
There's even a safer way to browse the Internet. In this case, you can go to a site that will crash your "system" but all you have to do is simply replace it with the original "system". No installation of new OS, not even a reboot is required to close the system and re-start the original.

Yes, it's free.

BTW: Vista will be providing similiar functionality like this. What you are doing is using the Internet in a 'sandbox.' So if a black hat hacker invades your Internet session, they are only hitting the 'sandbox' - no other part of the system is affected. This happens to be the basis of honeypots - attracting the 'bee' to the honey only to be trapped in a pot. Many of the black hat hackers are now being monitored through these honeypots to help teach us what they are trying in the wild.
