looking for a wireless router

Howdy, im looking for a wireless router in the 60 or so price range. I will have good ole dsl internet (3-6mbs) I dont need great wireless, there will only be one computer connected wirelessly but it will be 2 stories up from where the router is. I will have like 3/4 comps connect hard wired and we will be sharing music and files. I read on some review that the Linksys WRT54GS had the speed booster thing that upped the ram or something that helped out file sharing. Thanks for all the help guys.

The WRT54GS is the router I'd go for!

definetly, I hate the router i have, couldn't convince the parents to get that one. We got two g usb adapters on a crappy D-Link Router, for like 50$, so yeah that router all the way, my best friend has it and loves it

i got my dsl modem today when i went home for lunch...well see if it works with what we have set up...the newest problem, have the modem but no dial tone in any of our phone lines...

That can happen.....the port can be faulty in the exchange.....you should call them asap.

Also you may still get DSL sync even without a dial tone ;)

What router did you get? WRT54GS ?

ended up not getting a router, yet atleast. gonna see if the current setup works or not. My roommate told the landlord and said that someone will be out probably tomorrow... bastards.

got the phone line working...had someone from the apt. complex come out and fixed the phone. wont be home till 10 so cant work on dsl till then... ill keep you all updated.

well, got it all up and working took abuot 2 hours to get it all right... sbc tech people are morons, just thought i would let you all know.

ps. i hate dsl.

well, i broke down and got the WRT54GS...I figured, what the hell. The wireless setup wasnt working out for me the way i had it... ooh well. Its all good. I just like buying tech. stuff anyways.
