About to buy a laptop/notebook computer...

Post by dgood »

well i have been looking around at various options for a laptop/notebook computer for my college. There are a few requirements i have about the lap top, it should be too heavy, it should get good battery life, it should be able to run most if not all of the new games on decent settings at least when plugged in, and should be in the want the best deal for those specifications. I am thinking of spending about $1000-$1500. So I figured I'd take my question to the experts here where I trust all of your guy's judgement more than any other people out there. I was looking at an ABS 2.2ghz amd turion mobile 64 bit processor mayhem g3 eclipse (~6.6lbs) 128mb x700 mobility and 512 of ram. comes out to liek $1400 with shipping (along with all the awesome bonuses of a t-shirt, mousepad, free laptop case/cases, and far cry dvd) or the alienware a51 5500m or soemthing liek that but I like the amd processor more than the intel core duo, but on the other hand It has a 256mb 6600 go. Hoever the eclipse has a 8xdvd burner where the alienware has a just cd burner/dvd combo. Just questions I wanted to know what you guys thought about the different ones. Thanks in advance, sorry I haven't posted in a while. -Dgood

Also I was wondering if anyone had an idea of an equally good priced laptop with comparable graphics. Though I'd prefer to have a 64 bit processor in my laptop and good battery life.
