Am I going to see a big difference between these two performance wise? I'm going to be picking up a Dell Inspiron E1705 and it accepts either of these modules.
I am going to be picking up 2GB of RAM online rather than buying it put in by Dell as I'm going to end up saving myself around $100-150. I just would like to save a couple more bucks getting the 4200 instead of the 5300 unless I see a huge difference in performance.
The system I pieced together has a Core Duo @ 2.0GHz, 7800 Go, 100GB 5400RPM HDD.
Also, any recommendations? I don't like Value RAM... that's a big no-no.
I came across this GSkill RAM... it's PC4200 and doesn't look too bad.
.
DDR2 PC4200 or PC5300... performance difference?
