Has anyone had any expierence with Acer laptops.
I am looking at this model http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834115233
One of the reasons I am looking at an Acer laptop is the cost and the full size keyboard.

Sorry I missed your post!
I recently got a low spec Dell laptop, but I did ask around about other makes/models. A number of people where I work use Acer. They never had any issues with them. I don;t have first hand experience but from what I was told and have read, they are quality!
That also looks like a great offer......
Acer Aspire AS9402WSMi NoteBook Intel Pentium M 735(1.7GHz) 17.0" Wide XGA+ 1GB DDR2 533 100GB 5400rpm DVD Super Multi Intel GMA900
$969.99
Just be aware the Intel GFX are crap for averything except 2D. (but you do get good battery life)

What I have been told about Acer (mostly desktops) is that they are farily well built. However, they tend to buy parts from the cheapest provider and you may buy 10 computers and each have slightly different manufacturers of some hardware components. A know some folks who buy PC's in large quantities and they say every now and then there will be some incompatibilities due to some of the components.
