Does anyone know of any manufacturer that is making an express card sound card? It's new technology and I haven't found much about it. I'm disappointed that Dell would put this in a system when there is no such device in existance yet. I was looking forward to using my PCMCIA Audigy 2 ZS, but not in a laptop that only has an Express Card slot...

Yeah, i cant find anything either...
I dont think that companies will start making specialised stuff like that until there is a big enough expresscard user base to make a profit with.

PCI-E cards will mostly be utilized for Video Cards and Physics cards. On the Buisness level you'll see enterprise class RAID controllers being put into PCI-E 16x busses but I don't think there will be a sound card in the near future that will be on a 16x PCI-E bus.

I'm not talking about a PCI-E slot, I'm talking about an Express Card slot which is a modular expansion slot. They run off the PCI-E interface. I can't imagine anyone making a video card or physx card for a modular expansion slot... well at this time anyway. I was digging around on the net and ran into PCMCIA's website, the makers of the Express Card standard. They actually have a nice list of stuff that manufacturers make but no sound cards are listed yet.
I believe I was reading that something might be in the works, but it will be a little while since it isn't a big standard yet. I can't see no one making a sound card for the slot as a lot of people out there don't want to use the crappy integrated sound in their laptops. The Express Card slot can be in desktops too, I just haven't seen it.
