I book VS. others

I was just wondering what the "major" differences are between an Apple I Book and a "normal" laptop? Will an I Book work on a wireless network that has a PC on it as well or not? can I share printers between an I Book and a PC? ....etc. My wife wants an I Book and I have a PC on a wireless network with hers and I just don't know anything about Apple and what they will or will not work with.

It should work fine. God for the price of an Ibook she could get a much much better laptop. An HP with a large screen, and media controls. God I hate Apple

I know that apple is not by any means cheap. I have heard that the Apple OS is much more stable than Windows but here again I just don't know. When was the last time any of your wives descided they wanted something and settled for less without ever mentioning what they really wanted again?? She will not give up until I get her one even IF it takes 4 years of saving for it.

Not Married, thank Fing God. Only 22 as well. But I would say to her, hey do you want This little dinky screen or do you want this big 17". Tell her that some of her programs won't work right. Also an OS is only as stable as its user.

I hate those stupid Apple commercials. I've read an article about Apple stopping those, but it didn't happen.

To answer your question, yes...you can network a mac with windows....and very easily too!
Just make sure the mac has "airport" (WiFi)
The only thing lacking is native support for games. they also cost alot.
You'll need 1GB of ram min for OSX and once you increase the screen size or upgrade the gfx, the price goes way up!

You can also install XP on a MAC now with zero performance hit!
They run on C2D so they are fast 8)

are we talking ibook or macbook? the ibooks are the old and the macbooks are the new. mac books have intels in them and ibooks have g3s/g4s. only the intel ones run windows. However, ibooks are cheaper because they are old. they still have os x and run things well just not the performace of the c2d that are in the newest ones. photoshop cs2 runs better on the ibook than the macbook though. just thought i'd ask because ibooks are like 600 or 700 online I think and macbooks are double that.
