well am stuck between an Alienware m9700 or a Toshiba Satellite P100-S9762. Now they alienware laptop uses AMD Turionâ„¢ 64 Mobile while the toshiba uses Coreâ„¢2 Duo Processor Number* T7200
which one do you think would have better performance in games?? the toshiba comes with GeForce® Go 7900GTX while the Alienware comes with Geforce Go 7900GS with SLI available.
Also does the cpu really matter?? be it dual core or single core??

Well basically I would compare an X2 vs a C2D, because the Turion is essential an X2 and the Merom is essentially a C2D. The GTX is better than a GS, so I would go with what gives you the best bundle without the CPU. Performance is gonna be close to the same

but the 7900GS is SLI while the GTX is single but with 512MB, and the GS would have a total memory of 1GB while in SLI

IMO if you need SLI in a notebook, you don't want a notebook.

I think in SLi you don't add the memory of both cards together so in reality you would only have 256MB of video memory and not 512MB if you had two 7900GS cards running in SLi.
Adding the memory of both cards together when running SLi is a misconception with most users think.

Have you looked at
http://www.sagernotebook.com
They make some excellent gaming lappy's. Only mentioning them because I have owned them and their price/performance was better than alienware by a bit.
