I,m looking to condense my cd collection with a MP3 player. I don"t really want to carry it and just want it to sit on my receiver in the house and sound good.I would like a screen that's easy to see and store perhaps 500 songs. Any suggestions?

while the ipod nano is always a choice, what you may want instead is the new Creative Zen 16GB, maybe a little to much storage, but it has a larger screen and more features than the nano, also, the iRiver Clix has D-click navigation which is great, and Sandisk Sansa series is good, out of these, the Sansa's would be the cheapest, while still having a fair screen, but a few people don't like the interface/connectivity.

Thanks for your help since I'm a novice with the mp3. I was leaning towards the iRiver but will certainly take a look at the Sandisk Sansa.

Be sure to check out the sansa connect, it has built in wireless networking, and an external speaker:

remember that these are fairly baseline, so don't expect great screen resolutions coming out of these, but you'll definitely get some great sound quality.
