Hey there

Post by Pingjockey » Fri Feb 19, 2010 3:14 pm

I have been involved in the computer hardware and software scene for a rather long time as a lurker but I guess I should come on out and get involved. I found this site via twitter and was quite excited to know that they are local (St. Louis is about an hour from me) so its cool to know that there is a tech scene here in the midwest.

I have been in IT for about 11 or so years now with my first rig being a pentium 3 450 with a 3dfx voodoo 2 setup (showing my age I know). I have seen all sorts of tech and IT stuff and even had the pleasure of suing IBM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitachi_Deskstar .

My current rig is alittle behind the times due to other the economy but here it is:

Abit IX38
Intel Q6600 @ 3.1 Ghz
4 GB G.Skill F2-8000CL5D
2 Saphire 4850's

Hope to learn a lot and share what I know with the community at large here

I was kicking around shifting to an AMD rig though so hopefully it may help.
