Anyway, I'm BP, and I'm a computer addict.
All: Hi BP!
(And yes, I know that's overused...)
And moving on, I found this forum through Apop's article on the ASUS Z71V when I was looking at building a laptop (and yes, the article was instrumental in helping me to do it.)
My current system is the following:
ASUS A7N8X-X (Yes! Still Socket A!)
AMD Sempron 2800+
generic something or other 1gb (2x512mb) PC2700
200gb hard drive (I don't remember the brand, I'll have to look then insert here.)
generic DVD-RW drive (yep, I'm pretty generic )
eVGA 236mb GeForce FX-5500
Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit
Windows XP Pro SP2 (but contemplating linux)
L&C 500W psu (yep more generic!)
Gateway 17" monitor that is at least 8 yrs old and still kicking great!
Logitech x-530 5.1 speakers
I don't have the greatest computer in the world, but as long as I can run Doom 3 at decent settings, I'm happy.
I am very much an AMD fanboy, but like everyone I'm watching Conroe...
As I mentioned, I like first person shooters. I also love RPGs and strategy games, RTS over turn-based. I also play the occasional flying game. I just a good joystick, then I'll play more flying.
I know how to overclock, I want to do, and other things, but the only thing I've ever overclocked was a Celeron 466 up to 581. It was free, so heh.
I like green lights in my case (favorite color of course). Just thought everyone would want to know that.
Oh yeah, and my case is a gray Z-Alien. The only way it could be better is if it was black, but they didn't have that where I got mine.
edit: And i love smileys.
Guess I shoulda posted here first...

Welcome and thanks for the feedback! Apop works hard on his reviews and they live up to the site's name. The Black Pumpkin wrote:And moving on, I found this forum through Apop's article on the ASUS Z71V when I was looking at building a laptop (and yes, the article was instrumental in helping me to do it.)
